Help / FAQ
Everything you need to know about PSIGENEI and Test Manthan.
1. About PSIGENEI and Test Manthan
PSIGENEI is a complete ecosystem for life sciences higher studies and careers in India. It covers everything from entrance exam preparation to the career you actually want, through six integrated verticals: Test Manthan, Courses, 1:1 Mentorship, Free Resources, Career Blog, and SciComm. Built specifically for life sciences.
Test Manthan is PSIGENEI's flagship product. It is a customisable mock test platform that lets you build your own tests across 8 exams, 220+ topics, and thousands of questions. You choose your exam, subject, topics, question type, difficulty, and duration. After every test, the platform shows you exactly where your accuracy is dropping and what to work on next.
Test Manthan currently covers CSIR NET Life Sciences, GATE BT, GATE XL, IIT JAM BT, GAT-B, CUET PG (Life Sciences, Zoology, Botany, and Biochemistry), and TIFR Biology. Free and Pro plans cover a subset of exams. Elite covers all seven. A full breakdown is on the pricing page at psigenei.com/test-manthan.
PSIGENEI was founded by Shabab Anwar (Founder) and Sabiha Parveen (Co-Founder), both MSc graduates from IIT Bombay. The team includes subject matter experts from IISc Bangalore, AIIMS Delhi, and other leading research institutions in India.

3. Subscriptions and Pricing
Test Manthan offers three plans: Free, Manthan Pro, and Manthan Elite. Free is always free with limited tests per month. Pro and Elite are available on annual and monthly billing cycles. Full details are on the pricing page at psigenei.com/test-manthan.
Pro covers IIT JAM BT, GAT-B, TIFR Biology, and CUET PG. Elite covers all of those plus CSIR NET Life Sciences, GATE BT, and GATE XL. Elite also gives you more tests per year and higher question limits per test. If you are targeting CSIR NET or GATE, Elite is the right plan.
From your dashboard or the pricing page, click Get Pro or Get Elite. Select your billing cycle, and complete payment via Razorpay. Your plan activates immediately after payment.
Payments are processed via Razorpay. UPI, debit cards, credit cards, and net banking are all supported.
Yes. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. You will receive a reminder before renewal. You can manage or cancel auto-renewal from Settings at any time before the renewal date.
Go to Settings from your dashboard and manage your subscription. Cancelling auto-renewal means your current plan continues until the end of the billing period and then stops. You are not charged again.
Your price is locked for the duration of your active billing cycle. If prices change, existing subscribers are not affected until their next renewal.
4. Refunds and Cancellations
Test Manthan subscriptions are non-refundable in most cases. Refunds are only considered in four situations: a verifiable technical failure that prevented platform access for a significant portion of the subscription period, accidental duplicate payment, payment processed but plan not activated, or a billing error on our end. Dissatisfaction, change of mind, or exam schedule changes are not grounds for a refund. Please read the full Refund Policy at psigenei.com/refund-policy before subscribing.
Submit a request through the Help Center in your dashboard, or email psigenei@gmail.com with your registered email, order or transaction ID, and a description of the issue. Requests are reviewed within 5 to 7 business days.
If a refund is approved, it is credited back to the original payment method within 7 to 10 business days depending on your bank or payment provider. Your account reverts to the Free plan immediately.
Your plan runs until the end of the current billing period. You retain full access until then. There is no partial refund for the remaining period.
5. Using Test Manthan
Test creation is a three-step process. Step 1: Choose your exam, test mode, and question source. Step 2: Choose your subject and topics. Step 3: Refine and fine-tune your test using advanced parameters including question type, cognitive level, and difficulty. The test opens immediately after creation.
Standard Mode serves questions you have not seen before, for fresh practice. Revision Mode brings back questions you have already attempted, useful for consolidation before an exam. Weakness Mode serves questions only from topics where your accuracy is below the threshold, so you focus on what actually needs work. Standard Mode is available on all plans. Revision and Weakness are Pro and Elite only.
Test Manthan supports MCQ (single correct), MSQ (multiple correct), and NAT (numerical answer type) formats depending on the exam selected. Question types match the format your actual exam uses.
Test Manthan offers three difficulty profiles: Beginner, Balanced, and Advanced. These are not absolute labels. The distribution of easy, medium, and hard questions in each profile is calibrated specifically to each exam. A Balanced setting for CSIR NET reflects a different question mix than a Balanced setting for IIT JAM BT, because the exams themselves have different difficulty distributions. You can also set difficulty manually using the advanced parameters in Step 3 of test creation.
The Bonus Test Series is a set of expert-curated full-length and topic-wise tests included with Pro and Elite plans. Unlike custom tests you build yourself, these are pre-structured practice sets designed by our content team for targeted exam practice.
Your progress is auto-saved periodically. If you lose connection mid-test, reopen the test from your dashboard. Answered questions are saved. Note that time continues to run during a disconnection.
Yes. After every test, you get full access to question review with expert-curated explanations, and your performance analytics. On the Free plan, you get basic analytics and full question review. On Pro and Elite, you get advanced analytics including topic-wise accuracy, cognitive level breakdown, and smart recommendations, along with full question review filtered by topic, difficulty, and correctness.
Yes. The platform works on phones, tablets, and laptops. For the best experience and the closest simulation of the actual CBT (Computer Based Test) exam format, a laptop or desktop is recommended. Mobile and tablet use is fully supported for practice and revision.
Use the Help Center in your dashboard to report any question or explanation errors. Our content team reviews and corrects verified errors promptly.
